Disability Talk Christmas Lunch

·

·

Hi everyone!!!

I can’t believe how much Disability Talk team has accomplished in such a short time.

First, we volunteer our time with Christmas Box for the first time. We helped them assemble the boxes with all the excellent food donated. That was a fantastic experience. Seeing how many people are involved in a single hamper. It makes us think about the priceless value of volunteers.

Then, together, we prepared a great, fun community.

Christmas Party

We had great food, danced, laughed, and enjoyed time together. We all felt a sense of belonging. For that, we need to thank

  • The NDIS Support Coordinators (Alma and Maria) who organized the party
  • Pilgrim Uniting Church (Ros and Ikani) allowed us to use their hall and play music as loud as possible.
  • Carlos Saldanas played music and made us dance, sing, and cheer.
  • All Disability Support Workers who helped to organize and transport participants to the party
  • The participants. We underestimate how hard it can be to leave home, join a big crowded place and put up with music….for 2 hours!!!

Well done to all of you!!! Once again, we have proven how valuable teamwork is.

Finally, after dancing and eating, Disability Talk team could bring Hampers to those who could not join us for lunch and would benefit from some food and those who have no gifts to put under the tree this year. More hampers will be delivered this week.

We created a video that captures the best moments of this Christmas 2023. We hope you enjoy it.

I wish for the New Year to do more of these events, spend time together, and see more people joining us.

Enough talking about ourselves!! Now, it’s time for you to tell us about your experience with Disability Talk. What do you like about us? What else would you like us to do for you or your participants?
